"When I was twelve years old, I had the chance to join an academy and I thought to myself that the opportunity I had, many others at that age don't have. Just the fact that I saw the children smiling and knew that I could help them was something special. I know how cruel and difficult life can be in Mali. Now that I am a professional, I can and want to make these children smile."
Amadou Haidara learnt to play football at the JMG Academy Bamako. For him, it was the springboard out into the big world of football. The academy not only turned Doudou into a great athlete, but also gave him the chance to develop into a great person. He is now passing this opportunity on to the next generation.
